Assessment of current F Gas Regulations published by DEFRA

The UK, Scottish and Welsh governments have undertaken an assessment of the F-gas Regulation and published a joint report on its effects. This is in line with the statutory requirement set out in Article 21(2) of the F-gas Regulation as retained in UK law as it applies in Great Britain. It does not set out proposals for legislative change. 

This report retrospectively assesses the F gas Regulation in Great Britain against its objectives to reduce F gas use and emissions. It includes:

• a forecast of the continued demand for hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs)
• an assessment of further action from international commitments
• an overview of standards
• a review of the availability of technically feasible and cost-effective alternatives.
